All they need to do is rebuild your drive and if the operating system cannot be restored then they will simply move the files to some sort of media for you to look through at your own convenience.

There are other piece of software that do the same thing, but many will say that Norton is the best.
If the data recovery facility cannot recover your information then you naturally will not be charged. They are good at what they do however and you can usually expect excellent results. Make sure that you choose a reputable facility however, because being in the DC area you’ll want to make sure that your information is protected. There is a chance that your hold data which is either important to your career, or to your employer, and sensitive information is no laughing matter! Keep that data protected at all costs.
